I Am the Messenger

I really like this book so far, I think the beginning of the book is really funny when the bank is getting robbed and they are all talking about how Marv's car is junk while the robber is threatening to kill them, then I also like how Ed's personality switches so quickly, he calls himself a deadbeat lonely cabdriver but then he is given these addresses which he has no clue about but decides to go to them and he becomes heroes in other peoples eyes even when he thinks he is worthless.

One of the most important parts of this book so far is when Ed pretends to be Milla's husband Jimmy. "Now piss off, Ed, I think as I walk out. It's what she was thinking, I'm sure. I like being Jimmy". This shows real character of Ed Jimmy died sixty years ago and Ed came along pretending to be Jimmy so Milla wouldn't be lonely when he says he likes being Jimmy its because his mother treats him with no respect at home but when he is with Milla he is getting the sense of what it is to feel loved which his mom doesn't give him.

Ed reminds me in someways of Sydney carton from A Tale of Two Cities, Sydney believes himself to be a lonely, worthless person but he ends up saving the lives of the people he cares about most and gives his life a purpose. This reminds me of Ed because ed also thinks of himself as his life not really having a purpose and he is boring but then he is given an opportunity to show that his life has  purpose and go to these addresses to help people and give ed a purpose in his life.

This book is also very comical. I like when Marv is speaking because so far in the book especially in the beginning he is very funny. I like how when people talk about his junk car he gets really mad, even though it stopped the robber from the bank from getting away since it wouldn't start. Lastly, how the Dog is called Doorman.

I cant wait to keep reading this book because it is a fun book to read and easy to picture the events happening in your head.
